Job summary

Sunrise Medical Laboratories, Inc. is seeking a Cytotechnologist in Chantilly, VA. You will examine stained slides under a microscope to detect abnormalities, report Pap test results, and assist pathologists with diagnoses.

The position requires cytology training, ASCP certification, and Thinprep certification, with a focus on accuracy and quality. You will work in a supportive team, maintain safety/compliance standards, and contribute to patient care in a fast-paced lab environment.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of cytology.
• Cytotechnologist certification by the ASCP.
• Thinprep Certification required; SurePath Certification preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities for accurate slide evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Examine prepared slides with the microscope to detect abnormalities.
• Report negative Pap test cases and refer abnormal cases to pathologists for review.
• May read Non-GYN specimens and report findings for final diagnosis.
• Document daily slide counts and hours spent examining slides.
• Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with emphasis on safety and quality control.
