  • Preferred: Bachelor’s in Chemistry or Biological Sciences and related lab experience.

Responsibilities

  • Receive Cytology samples and perform processing for high complexity analysis under supervision.
  • Assist with Non-Gyn specimen preparation and ensure regulatory compliance (CLIA '88, JCAHO, CAP, OSHA).
  • Maintain accurate documentation and safety practices in a high-demand lab environment.

Come do great work on behalf of better health!POSITION SUMMARYReceives Cytology samples and performs processing for high complexity analysis as defined by CLIA ‘88 in an accurate and timely manner with supervision. Performs all essential functions of a Testing Level II employee, as defined by the department. In addition, is responsible for all aspects of Non Gyn specimen preparation and assists with department compliance with all pertinent laboratory accrediting agencies and regulatory requirements (e.g., CLIA ’88, JCAHO, CAP, OSHA). Personnel report to department supervisor. Performs well in the absence of a supervisor.PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORSAble to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach and stretch frequently. May be required to use material handling equipment to push/and or pull up to 75 pounds and required to lift, push and/or pull up to 25 pounds. Must use standard precautions due to the threat of exposure to blood and body fluids. Able to communicate effectively and comprehend written and oral instructions. Requires significant use of computer, phone and general office equipment. Able to perform instrumentation maintenance to include adequate ability to grasp and handle objects. Needs visual acuity and ability to adequately distinguish colors.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESDemonstrates highly developed interpersonal skills.Proficient in basic computer skills. Demonstrates excellent problem-solving skill, and high level of self-motivation.Must exhibit personal maturity and responsibility.Good reading, writing and math abilities.
