Sonora Quest Laboratories, Tempe, AZ, is seeking a Cytology Prep Tech to receive Cytology samples and prepare them for high complexity analysis, under supervision. The role includes performing all essential Testing Level II functions and supporting department compliance with CLIA, JCAHO, CAP and OSHA standards.

The position requires various educational paths as described, with preference for related degrees. Evening shift duties and a focus on accuracy and safety are essential.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent; plus listed clinical lab qualifications.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Biological Sciences preferred.
• Ability to work evenings and in a CLIA-compliant lab.

Come do great work on behalf of better health!**POSITION SUMMARY** Receives Cytology samples and performs processing for high complexity analysis as defined by CLIA ‘88 in an accurate and timely manner with supervision. Performs all essential functions of a Testing Level II employee, as defined by the department. In addition, is responsible for all aspects of Non Gyn specimen preparation and assists with department compliance with all pertinent laboratory accrediting agencies and regulatory requirements (e.g., CLIA ’88, JCAHO, CAP, OSHA). Personnel report to department supervisor. Performs well in the absence of a supervisor.**PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS**Able to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach and stretch frequently. May be required to use material handling equipment to push/and or pull up to 75 pounds and required to lift, push and/or pull up to 25 pounds. Must use standard precautions due to the threat of exposure to blood and body fluids. Able to communicate effectively and comprehend written and oral instructions. Requires significant use of computer, phone and general office equipment. Able to perform instrumentation maintenance to include adequate ability to grasp and handle objects. Needs visual acuity and ability to adequately distinguish colors.**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES*** Demonstrates highly developed interpersonal skills.* Proficient in basic computer skills.
