Job summary

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston seeks a Laboratory Technician to support the Cytopathology department in the Main Processing Lab. You will help ensure specimens are properly received, accessioned, stained, and identified while assisting with equipment maintenance and workflow efficiency.

You will prepare reagents, set up the stain hood, monitor inventory, perform QC/QA tasks, and transport cases between labs and offices three times daily.

Qualifications

• Requires: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in related field
• Experience in clinical laboratory or similar setting is a plus

Responsibilities

• Prepares reagents and sets up stain hood following precise instructions
• Receives, accession, stains, and ensures proper identification of specimens
• Maintains equipment and documents QC/QA activities
• Monitors inventory and assists with supply management
• Transports cases and specimen materials between labs and offices (3 times daily)
• Supports internal and external customers with professional communication
