Job summary

Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Newton, MA, seeks a Cytology Supervisor to coordinate daily Cytology operations. Working with the Senior Clinical Manager, you’ll help develop policies and ensure the delivery of quality lab services, overseeing specimen prep, accessioning, and slide screening.

This role requires a Bachelor’s in Medical Technology or Laboratory Sciences, 2–3 years of cytology, and supervisory/teaching background. Onsite, 40 hours/week, $10,000 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree Medical Technology required or Bachelor's Degree Laboratory Sciences required.

Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises cytology personnel and daily workflow.
• Evaluates work performance and encourages professional growth and development of laboratory personnel.
• Identifies, evaluates, and recommends ways to improve systems.
• Communicates with healthcare providers to resolve problems and address their needs.
• Orients and trains new employees.
• Recognizes the role of the laboratory and how it relates to overall hospital function regarding patient care.
