Screens gynecological and non-gynecological cytologic preparations to determine abnormalities and assists Pathologist with diagnosis.
Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures. Position Details:
This position is anticipated to work 8:30A - 5P, Monday-Friday.
Join our team at Geisinger Medical Center! Our cytopathology services are headed by Dr. Sara Monaco and processes more than 35,000 cytology cases per year, of which approximately 12,000 are non-gynecologic cases.
This position offers the chance to be part of a large system with a collaborative and vibrant atmosphere. You will not be stuck at the microscope reading slides all day!You will attend a wide range of procedures at the main hospital, screen both non-gyn and FNA cases from a variety of procedures and body locations.
As an academic teaching facility associated with a residency program, cytopathology fellowship, and medical school, there are residents, fellows, and students that interact with professional staff daily and provide educational conferences, and also offer the chance for our cytologists to teach.
