Job Summary

Be part of a state-of-the-art laboratory dedicated to providing exceptional patient care through innovative and high-quality services. Your role involves screening gynecological and non-gynecological cytologic preparations, assisting Pathologists with diagnoses, and participating in departmental quality assurance and technological advancements.

Key Responsibilities

• Screen cytologic preparations, identify abnormalities, and assist in diagnosis.
• Sign out negative gynecologic specimen reports and pass proficiency testing.
• Assist with fine needle aspirations, including specimen collection and rapid staining.
• Gather patient history and clinical information, and request additional specimens when necessary.
• Maintain quality assurance, equipment, and supplies, and participate in training and departmental projects.

Position Details

Work hours are typically 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The role offers opportunities for professional development within a large, collaborative system, engaging with residents, fellows, and students, and participating in educational and research initiatives.

Qualifications

• Must have ASCP CT credential.
• New graduates or those with less than 3 years of experience are encouraged to apply through the Anatomic Pathology Scholars Program, which offers up to $40,000 in support and a five-year work commitment.
• Minimum education: Bachelor's Degree.
• Preferred experience: At least 1 year in related work.
• Certification: Certified ASCP Cytotechnologist.
