Job summary

Fairview is seeking a Cytogenetics Technologist for the University of Minnesota Medical Center-East Bank, in the CG department. The role involves independent, complex testing across GBAND, Microarray, and FISH, with opportunities for method development and cross-team collaboration.

You will work a day schedule, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends and holidays, and start times varying by department needs. A sign‑on bonus may be offered.

Qualifications

• Must have high-complexity testing eligibility per CLIA ’88.
• NAACLS cytogenetics program or equivalent.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Follows established guidelines to obtain specimens and prioritize work.
• Assess integrity of all specimens for testing.
• Verifies correct identification of specimens before testing.
• Determines priority of specimen testing and procurement.
• Performs a wide variety of complex diagnostic testing including GBAND, Microarray, and FISH analysis.
• Directly communicates results to Medical Director/Pathologists.
