Job summary

NeoGenomics in Aliso Viejo, CA is seeking an entry-level Laboratory Technician I in Cytogenetics. Under supervision, you will assist with processing specimens for clinical testing and support the lab's daily operations.

This role emphasizes learning, adherence to SOPs, and maintaining accurate records. Shift: Thursday–Monday, 1:30pm–10:00pm. Ideal for candidates with life/physical science degrees and 1–3 years lab experience.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in life or physical sciences required; an AA/AS with license also acceptable.
• 1-3 years of Laboratory Technician or Laboratory Assistant experience preferred.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-tasking environment; maintain quality.
• Must work in a biohazard environment and follow safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Receive, organize, and process clinical specimens accurately.
• Prepare data and documents for licensed technologists.
• Operate automated equipment per SOP.
• Maintain records of reagents and QA results.
• Assist in validation documentation for new tests.
• Maintain a clean, functional laboratory.
• Attend trainings and department meetings.
