Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
• Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
• Cytogenetics experience is required.
• ASCP Cytogenetics certification is required.
• Florida Cytogenetics Lab Supervisor License is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational and technical leadership for the cytogenetics lab.
• Oversee staff performance, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate workflow for karyotyping, FISH, and microarray testing.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and manage inventory.
• Write and maintain lab procedures and perform assay validations.
• Review complex cases for accuracy and prepare ISCN reports.
• Consult with genetic counselors, pathologists, and clinicians.
• Hire, train, and mentor technologists; schedule staff and evaluations.
• Maintain inspection readiness and compliance with CLIA, CAP, and state regulations.
• Drive continuous process improvement and innovation.
• Perform bench work as needed.
