Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is seeking a Cytogenetics Manager to oversee a dedicated team delivering cytogenetic and molecular cytogenetic testing in support of patient care, research, and precision medicine. You will lead operations across chromosome analysis, FISH, and emerging genomic tech within a top academic medical center.

In this leadership role, you will work with geneticists, pathologists, oncologists and other clinical teams to advance quality, innovation and continuous improvement,

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of clinical laboratory experience or 2 years with Master’s degree or 1 year with MD/DO/doctoral degree in a chemical, physical or biological science
• Bachelor of Science Degree (Medical Technology)
• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License from NYS Education Department
• Meets all requirements of the NYS Department of Health for a Laboratory Supervisor
• Computer literacy and experience in utilization of laboratory computer systems
• Experience with computerized spreadsheets, word processors and other statistical and financial programming
• Good interpersonal, writing and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Oversee cytogenetics and molecular cytogenetic testing services in support of patient care, research, and precision medicine initiatives
• Lead operations across conventional chromosome analysis, FISH testing, and emerging genomic technologies
• Foster a culture of quality, innovation, and continuous improvement in the laboratory
• Collaborate with geneticists, pathologists, oncologists and other multidisciplinary clinical teams
