Qualifications

• ABMGG Board Certified or Board Eligible in Clinical Cytogenetics and Genomics (CCG) or Laboratory Genetics and Genomics (LGG).
• Florida Clinical Laboratory Director licensure required.
• Doctoral degree in Genetics, Human Genetics, Molecular Genetics, Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, or related field meeting CLIA High-Complexity Laboratory Director requirements.
• Five years in a related laboratory field, including two years in clinical cytogenetics.

Responsabilités

• Provide scientific, technical, and operational oversight for the Cytogenetics Department, including chromosome analysis, FISH, and chromosomal microarray testing.
• Independently review, interpret, and sign out cytogenetic cases and consult with pathologists, physicians, genetic counselors, and other healthcare professionals regarding test selection and follow-up testing.
• Ensure testing quality and compliance with CLIA, CAP, ACMG standards, and current professional guidelines.
• Manage laboratory personnel, oversee staff training, competency assessment, and workflow design/optimization.
• Direct quality management, proficiency testing, and development/implementation of new tests.
• Exercise independent clinical judgment while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
