Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, TX is seeking a qualified genetic laboratory technician to prepare, examine, and analyze chromosomes in clinical specimens to aid in diagnosis and treatment of genetic diseases.
The role involves performing advanced technical duties in diagnostic studies of cells, recognizing and classifying findings, training subordinate personnel, and preparing reports and other documentation.
Prepares, examines, and analyzes chromosomes found in biological specimens such as amniotic fluids, bone marrow, and blood, to aid in diagnosis and treatment of genetic diseases. Will also perform advanced technical duties in the diagnostic study of cells for the purpose of recognition and classification. Assists in the training of subordinate personnel. Prepares and interprets reports, records, forms and other correspondence.
