Qualifications

Job description

Job Description
  • Perform Chromosome analysis and case review on all sample types – bone marrow, blood, prenatal, and tissues.
  • Conduct case review and case analysis with 100% accuracy at the highest productivity level.
  • Execute wet‑lab duties including sample set up, harvest, slide dropping, and banding; perform other wet‑lab tasks as needed.
  • Suggest and implement process improvements and contribute to protocol development.
  • Demonstrate successful collaboration with others.
  • Act independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments and provide guidance and oversee lower‑level personnel.
  • Assist in troubleshooting wet‑lab issues.
  • Perform additional duties as required, including wet‑lab protocols.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in biology or a related field.
Experience
  • 6+ years of experience as a Cytogenetic Technologist.
Certification / Licenses / Registration
  • Certification/registration as a Medical Technologist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or certification as a Clinical Lab Specialist in Cytogenetics (NCA).
