Responsibilities

• Teach swimming lessons to all ages (instruct & monitor).
• Perform lifeguarding duties during swim classes, pool parties, and public swim times.
• Ensure safety and program quality by following YMCA practices, evaluating participants, and enforcing rules.
• Make quick decisions and communicate effectively with members.

Details

• Hours: Part-time, non-exempt; Monday-Friday 9:30 am-7:30 pm; Saturday & Sunday 9:30 am-5:00 pm.
• Seasonal: May-September.
• Wage: $16.50/hour.

Qualifications

• Minimum age: 16.
• 1-3 years of experience teaching swimming and/or lifeguarding recommended.
• Must demonstrate water safety skills per YMCA standards.
• Pass criminal background check, drug test, health screening, TB test.

Certifications

• YMCA Swim Instructor or Water Safety Instructor (WSI) AND Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid.
• Certifications must be completed by June 2025.
• Classes available at Anaheim Family YMCA.
