Job summary

Navy Region Northwest Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) is seeking a CYP Cook to support the Child Development Center and School Age Care programs in Oak Harbor, WA. The role requires preparing meals, following standardized recipes, and maintaining safe food handling and sanitation practices to serve children and staff.

Responsibilities cover food prep, cooking, kitchen maintenance, and compliance with USDA CACFP and DoD guidelines.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of food handling techniques, personal hygiene standards, and safe work procedures.
• Ability to develop and modify recipes for large quantities.
• Understand sanitation standards and proper cleaning procedures.
• Ability to coordinate multiple cooking processes for quantity cooking.
• Strong English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all types of meats, poultry, seafood, vegetables, sauces, and gravies for menus.
• Cook and portion food for meals by following standardized recipes.
• Monitor temperatures and ensure proper cooking procedures.
• Maintain kitchen equipment and sanitation; clean areas and surfaces.
