Job summary

Airgas is hiring a Plant Operator (Cylinder Prep) in Stryker, OH. The role involves prepping cylinders for gas production, sorting by size and service, inspecting cylinders, and assisting with valve installation.

You will support loading/unloading, maintain a clean yard, and pursue forklift certification while contributing to safety initiatives on the shift. The position requires a High school diploma, basic math, and ability to work all shifts in a team environment, with familiarity in MS

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Comprehension of basic math skills.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and Outlook) or equivalent software.
• Ability to clearly write and fill out a report in English.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, safety data sheets and procedure manuals using the English language.
• Ability to read pressure and temperature indicators.
• Ability to connect and disconnect filling lines.
• Ability to move gas cylinders.
• Work in a team environment and follow directions.
• Ability to work all shifts; subject to all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Process gas cylinders for prep and preparation for new gas production.
• Sort and organize cylinders by size and service; assist with maintenance and painting.
• Inspect cylinders for quality and safety; install valves on low/high pressure cylinders.
• Collaborate with logistics to load/unload trucks and Airgas shuttles.
• Maintain clean, organized cylinder yard and inventory records.
• Gain forklift certification and participate in safety inspections.
