Job summary

Linde plc in Houston, TX is seeking personnel to inspect and maintain gas cylinders, ensuring safety and compliance through visual and physical checks and conversions before filling.

You will operate hydrostatic and ultrasonic testers, manage forklift moves, and maintain certifications for retesting. Strong work ethic and ability to lift 40–70 lbs are essential; 3rd shift with differential.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Gas industry or cylinder maintenance experience preferred.
• Able to lift and handle 40–70 lbs.
• Mechanically inclined with a self-motivated work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual and physical inspections on cylinders before filling to determine retesting or repairs.
• Conduct cylinder conversions including de-valving, valving, stripping and repairing valves.
• Operate hydrostatic and ultrasonic cylinder testers.
• Maintain required certifications to certify cylinders as retested.
• Operate a forklift to support material handling and movement of cylinders.
• Receive incoming cylinders, valves and maintenance supplies; diagnose and repair neck leaks and safety-related leaks.
• Inspect and identify defective cylinders and scrap as appropriate.
• Perform painting, housekeeping, and light maintenance to ensure a safe, clean environment.

What you will enjoy doing*

Pay Range: $21.00-$24 per hour, depending on experience.
