Job summary

Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. seeks a Cylinder Loader / Sorter in Hammond, IN to support loading, unloading and warehouse material movement on the 2nd shift (1:00pm–9:30pm).

Responsibilities include counting incoming cylinders, verifying lot numbers, inspecting for defects, and ensuring accurate filling records while maintaining safety and GMP standards. Forklift operation and compliance with DOT/FDA paperwork are required.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload cylinders and move materials within warehouse.
• Count incoming cylinders, verify lot numbers and organize shipments.
• Inspect returned cylinders for defects and quarantine as needed.
• Ensure calibration and filling records are maintained per regulations.
• Operate forklift and hand truck to move materials safely.
• Fill cylinders per guidelines and complete pre/post-fill inspections.

What you will enjoy doing*

• In this role you will adhere to all Linde plc Safety Policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safe lifting techniques, and sitespecific safety requirements
• You will apply basic Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Quality Control pronciples to all tasks
• Count incoming cylinders, verify lot numbers and load/unload trucks as required
• Responsible for inspecting returned cylinders for surface defects and following procedures for safe handling and storage
• Identify and separate defective cylinders from production and transfer them to designated quarantine areas
• You will review, document and confiirm proper calibration of equipment ensuring all equipment to ensure ongoing accuracy and compliance
• Safely operate a forklift and hand truck to suppport loading, unloading and warehouse material movement
• Fill cylinders in accordance with established guidelines,including completing all required pre-fill and post-fill inspections and maintaining cylinder filling records in compliance with applicable regulations

What Makes You Great

• You have a high school diploma or GED
• You possess good written and customer service skills, with effective communication and ability to interface with co-workers
• Basic computer ability is necessary
• Motivation and high energy are essential traits
• Formal forklift training and experience are preferred
• You have the ability to read and understand DOT and FDA paperwork, and work independently under pressure to meet deadlines
• Flexibility to adapt to changing customer demands and convey information clearly
• Experience in a manufacturing or logistics environment is preferred, with the ability to lift and carry weights up to 50 pounds and maneuver weights up to 100 pounds, while working outdoors in various temperatures and performing prolonged standing and frequent physical motions
