Job summary

Airgas in Cheshire, CT is hiring a Production Associate (Cylinder Loader). You will load and unload high‑pressure and liquid cylinders on/off trucks, following Airgas safety standards and procedures to protect people and property.

You will operate a forklift and pallet jack, keep accurate records of cylinder type and quantity, and inspect cylinders for defects. A high school diploma or GED and mechanical aptitude are required; SAP/ERP experience and basic Office skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED required.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Prefer experience with SAP or similar ERP system.
• Intermediate knowledge of Google Suite or Microsoft Office.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic with units of measure.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload high‑pressure and liquid cylinders on/off trucks following Airgas procedures.
• Inspect cylinders prior to filling and maintain safety benchmarks.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment safely.
• Record type and quantity of cylinders accurately.
• Prepare cylinders for reuse by removing old labels and cleaning as needed.
• Identify and segregate out‑of‑test or defective cylinders.
• Move cylinders to designated work areas using safe methods.
• Adhere to Airgas safety programs, OSHA rules and relevant regulations.
