Job summary

Great Southern Wood Preserving, Inc. is seeking a Cylinder Attendant to join its production teams in Glenwood, AR.

The role involves preparing lumber for treatment, operating transfer decks, drilling samples, banding, and monitoring cylinder production to ensure smooth flow of materials. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED (lumber experience a plus) and is ready to perform housekeeping duties, assist with inventory, and support treating engineers.

Responsibilities

• Assists Treating Engineers by preparing lumber for treatment.
• Operates transfer deck controls.
• Drills material samples.
• Binds and tags lumber for treatment.
• Monitors cylinders and tram production.
• Prepares lumber for treatment.
• Maintains housekeeping around cylinder and tram areas.
• Assists in picking up lumber and materials after spills.
• Participates in month-end inventory activities.

Great Southern Wood Preserving, Inc. – producer of YellaWood brand Pressure‑Treated Pine – is seeking a Cylinder Attendant. This is a full‑time position offering competitive pay and a full benefit package.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Assists Treating Engineers by preparing lumber to be treated, changing out charges, quality control, and other duties as assigned.
• Uses controls to operate the transfer deck.
• Uses drill to bore material samples.
• Uses banding tool and tag gun to prepare lumber for treatment.
• Monitors trams and production of cylinders to ensure efficient flow of material through equipment.
• Prepares lumber for treatment.
• Performs housekeeping and clean‑up around cylinder and tram area.
• Assists in picking up lumber and other materials due to spills as requested by Supervisor.
• Assists in month‑end inventory activities.
