Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is hiring a Cycle Counter in Flint, Michigan to support production with accurate inventory control and timely material availability.

This role requires coordinating supplier ship schedules, managing inventory levels in MGO, and ensuring continuous manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently or in a team, and a proven track record in materials planning or inventory control.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• One year or more administrative experience preferred.
• Five years or more relevant experience strongly recommended.

Responsibilities

• Follow up all purchased parts to ensure on-time delivery to support production.
• Serve as main contact for suppliers; direct ship schedules and containment plans when behind schedule.
• Track critical parts and implement containment to avoid production interruptions.
• Coordinate alternative sources of material and spot buys when necessary.
• Monitor and manage truck loads and inventory coverage for cost efficiency.
• Review buffers to ensure build requirements are met (Metal Centers and Powertrain).
