Job summary

Owens Corning is seeking an Inventory Cycle Counter for OC Stokesdale to maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and close collaboration with Receiving, Shipping, and Production teams. The role is physically demanding, involving walking on the production floor and in warehouse areas.

You will perform counts, reconcile discrepancies, assist with labeling and location accuracy, and support FIFO practices. Prior warehouse/inventory experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, or manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience with RF scanners, forklifts or inventory systems is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Basic math skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform cycle counts and reconcile physical inventory against system records.
  • Execute basic inventory scanning transactions to maintain system accuracy.
  • Work with Receiving, Shipping, and Production teams to locate and verify materials as needed.
  • Support FIFO practices by identifying and rotating aging or misplaced materials.
  • Assist in resolving inventory issues by working with supervisors and team members.
  • Assist with labeling, bay organization, and location accuracy.
  • Prepare areas for physical inventory events (sorting, organizing, staging materials).
  • Communicate clearly and professionally when reporting counts or escalating issues.
  • Safely move materials using carts, pallet jacks, or forklifts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Pay:

The hourly pay rate for this position is $17.00+ benefits. This information is specific to Stokesdale, NC and may not be applicable to other locations.

What your day in this role might involve at OC Stokesdale:

The Inventory Cycle Counter is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and timely escalation of discrepancies. This role is critical to ensuring system integrity by verifying physical inventory, supporting inventory transactions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.

This is a highly physical role requiring frequent walking throughout the facility and active engagement on the production floor and in warehouse environments.

  • Perform cycle counts and reconcile physical inventory against system records, documenting discrepancies.

Must haves include…

  • Previous experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, or manufacturing is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with RF scanners, forklifts or inventory systems is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and simple fractions)
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures
  • Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting throughout the shift
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing and warehouse environment
There are some essential physical requirements specific to our work environment, including being able to:
  • Do repetitive movements (hand, wrist, and arm)
  • Normal and / or corrected hearing and vision with good hand eye coordination
  • Walking, bending, twisting, stooping, climbing stairs, and lifting objects
  • Lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Withstand heat in excess of 95 degrees
  • Be exposed to wood dust and aluminum with no factors or hazards present to a disagreeable extent
