Job summary

ClearFocus Technologies, a HUBZone certified company, seeks a Cybersecurity Professional for an onsite role in Schenectady, NY. All applicants must have an active Top Secret clearance and SCI/Q eligibility.

The candidate will lead audits, compliance reviews, and vulnerability assessments while identifying IT vulnerabilities within government and commercial environments. Minimum one year of specialized GS-12 level experience; knowledge of federal cybersecurity laws; strong communication; and

Qualifications

• One year specialized experience at or equivalent to GS-12 level leading cybersecurity audits, compliance reviews, vulnerability assessments, or risk analyses.
• Knowledge of federal cybersecurity laws, regulations, and directives and their implementation requirements.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for senior leadership.
• Ability to maintain professionalism and reliability in high-visibility, mission-focused environments.
• Strong implementation and collaboration across IT disciplines.
• Cisco/DoD and certification familiarity (CISSP/CISM or similar) is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to improve IT or cybersecurity processes and security posture.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience developing or contributing to security policies, SOPs, or organizational directives.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field with required years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead cybersecurity audits, compliance reviews, vulnerability assessments, and risk analyses.
• Identify IT system vulnerabilities and recommend remediation actions.
• Ensure adherence to federal cybersecurity regulations and directives.

We are seeking a Cybersecurity Professional for an opportunity that is onsite in Schenectady, NY. All applicants must have an active Top Secret clearance and SCI/Q eligibility. No exceptions and no third parties.

Specialized Cybersecurity Experience Minimum of one (1) year of specialized experience at (or equivalent to) the U.S. Government GS-12 level, demonstrating the ability to lead cybersecurity audits, compliance reviews, vulnerability assessments, or risk analyses; and identifying IT system vulnerabilities.

Requirements:

Knowledge of Regulations and Standards Comprehensive knowledge of Federal cybersecurity laws, regulations, and directives – including DOE Orders, NNSA policies, Department of Defense instructions, and Intelligence Community directives – and their implementation requirements.

Communication Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively present complex ideas, data, and recommendations to senior leadership clearly and concisely.

Professionalism and Reliability Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in a high-visibility, mission focused environment. Must be self-motivated, able to work under tight deadlines and shifting priorities, and capable of independently setting work objectives and meeting commitments without close supervision.

b) Preferred Skills

Advanced Technical Expertise Familiarity with software design concepts, multiple IT disciplines, and IT infrastructure components to facilitate collaboration across diverse technical areas.

Relevant professional certifications (such as CISSP, CISM, or similar) are a plus.

Demonstrated success in proactively resolving complex issues and improving IT or cybersecurity processes to enhance organizational efficiency and security posture. Ability to manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously and see them through to completion

Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with a wide range of stakeholders in order to achieve cybersecurity program objectives.

Policy Development Experience

In developing and implementing new IT or cybersecurity policies and procedures at an organizational level. Prior involvement in drafting security plans, standard operating procedures, or organizational directives is beneficial.

Education:

Educational Background and Experience Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (in a relevant field) and a minimum of four (4) years of directly relevant experience; or a Master’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience.
