Security Specialist

Full Time Alexandria, VA, US

Position Summary

The Security Specialist is responsible for providing technical support in development, implementation, and monitoring of the program's Cybersecurity Plan and Processes, including plans, reports, inspections, training, and related activities. The individual must be able to attain and maintain a valid US Government security clearance to be retained in the position.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain cybersecurity plans and processes in accordance with component policies.
  • Support policy development and planning.
  • Assist in the development of security technical Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies and analyze the sensitivity of information and review vulnerability and risk assessments based on defined sensitivity and information flow.
  • Perform all required testing and documentation submissions to support RMF processes.
  • Provide cybersecurity functional support for assessments, authorizations, and documentation of fielded systems.
  • Coordinate and provide expert technical support to enterprise-wide cyber defense technicians to resolve cyber defense incidents.
  • Perform cyber defense trend analysis and reporting.
  • Manage incident response functions.
  • Strong and effective written and verbal communication skills coupled with excellent interpersonal and team skills.
  • Be detail and safety-oriented.
  • Other duties as assigned.
