Job summary

Galaxia Technologies is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Cybersecurity to advance assessment and implementation of mission-critical systems. As a Cybersecurity SME, you will guide risk management, ensure compliance with industry standards, and collaborate with engineering and leadership to analyze gaps and design scalable, secure solutions.

This role requires 12+ years in cybersecurity architecture, deep knowledge of NIST/ISO 27001, and the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance with CI

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity or related field; 12+ years of cybersecurity architecture experience.
• 12+ years securing and assessing large-scale enterprise software projects.
• 5+ years commercial industry experience with secure software projects.
• Expert knowledge of security frameworks and regulations (NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR, DoD RMF).
• Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent evaluations of system security controls for compliance and hygiene.
• Serve as technical expert on risk management, threat mitigation, and compliance.
• Oversee vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and threat modeling.
• Evaluate security policies against NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR, and DoD RMF.
• Collaborate with engineering and leadership to integrate security into SDLC.
• Mentor and train teams on cybersecurity practices and tools.
• Present assessment reports and metrics to senior leadership.
