Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission seeks a Cybersecurity Analyst IV to lead offensive security and security engineering initiatives in Austin. You will orchestrate red team operations, adversary emulation, and breach simulations to strengthen defenses across the agency's technology stack.

You will guide security architecture, cloud security, and detection engineering while coordinating with multiple teams to mature the agency's cyber posture and resilience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT security or related field; strong theoretical and practical knowledge required.
• Minimum 7+ years in information security with offensive security and engineering emphasis.
• Proven leadership of Red Team operations and security engineering initiatives.
• Experience with enterprise security technologies including SIEM, EDR/XDR and cloud security.

Responsibilities

• Lead cybersecurity red team operations, adversary emulation, and breach attack simulations.
• Oversee penetration testing, security assessments, and improvement of defenses.
• Provide advisory leadership on security architecture, cloud security, and defense strategies.
• Develop metrics, programs, and governance to elevate agency cybersecurity maturity.
