Job summary

TD Bank in Washington, DC is seeking a Counsel to provide strategic legal guidance on privacy, cybersecurity, and AI matters across Corporate Group functions and business units. You will interpret laws, assess risks, and advise on product roll-outs, data management, and regulatory developments while collaborating with the Privacy Office, Product Legal, Marketing, Data, Regulatory, and Platforms teams.

The ideal candidate has a JD, admission to the state bar, and 5+ years of related experience,

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required
JD from accredited law school required
5+ years of related experience
Admission to State Bar and good standing
Basic banking/financial services knowledge
Ability to simplify, multitask and meet deadlines
Integrity and high moral standards
Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
Strong legal research and analysis skills
Detail oriented
Ability to apply legal knowledge to business
Sound judgment

May supervise admin/paralegal staff

Responsibilities

Provide clear, proactive legal guidance across TD groups and projects.
Identify legal issues and advise on regulatory compliance for data, AI, and security.
Support incident response and privacy impact assessments.
Lead negotiations and conflict resolutions with stakeholders.
Collaborate with Privacy Office, Product Legal, Marketing, Data, Regulatory teams.
