Job summary

Highwire is seeking an Account Manager for Public Relations in the cybersecurity practice. The role leads communications programs across threat intelligence, incident response, data protection, and cloud security for influential cybersecurity clients, guiding media relations, executive visibility, and crisis response.

You will mentor junior teammates, contribute to new business, and help advance Highwire’s reputation as a leading cybersecurity communications agency.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of PR, communications, or marketing experience in an agency environment.
• Experience working with cybersecurity clients.
• Established relationships with business, technology, cybersecurity trade media and analysts.
• Proven ability to develop and lead communications strategies that drive visibility and credibility.
• Strong writing and storytelling skills, particularly for technical or data-driven content.
• Experience managing multiple client accounts, budgets, and teams.
• Mentoring and developing junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Lead media relations programs for cybersecurity clients, including threat research, data privacy, AI security, and enterprise protection.
• Develop PR and thought leadership strategies to strengthen brand reputation and support sales goals.
• Oversee budgets, timelines, and program deliverables across client accounts.
• Coach clients on crisis communications and incident response.
• Represent Highwire at conferences, media events, and networking opportunities.
• Draft press materials, bylined articles, briefing documents, and awards submissions.
• Create content translating technical cybersecurity concepts into accessible narratives.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to new business opportunities.
