Job summary

The City of High Point is seeking an IT Cybersecurity Manager to oversee security operations, threat detection, and incident response for enterprise systems. You will supervise cybersecurity personnel and vendors while partnering with IT teams to protect confidentiality, integrity, and availability of city technology resources.

Requires a bachelor’s in cybersecurity or related field and 5 years of IT/security experience with security programs.

Qualifications

• Completion of a bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer information systems, or related field.
• Five (5) years of IT/security experience with security operations, incident response, vulnerability management, or security program administration.
• Valid North Carolina Driver's License.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GCIH, Security+, CEH or equivalent.
• Experience with SIEM, EDR, vulnerability-management, cloud-security, or identity-governance platforms.

Responsibilities

• Leads cybersecurity monitoring and response activities, including triage, containment, eradication, and recovery.
• Oversees vulnerability scanning, risk prioritization, patch coordination, remediation validation, and security trends.
• Develops incident response runbooks and communication procedures for rapid coordination.
• Coordinates security logging, endpoint protection, and identity-related controls.
• Manages vendor relationships and reporting on cyber risk and program performance.
