Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative (NOVEC) is seeking an IT Security Operations Manager to lead day-to-day cybersecurity operations, threat management, and incident response. This role collaborates with IT, compliance, and business units to maintain a strong security posture and protect enterprise assets and data at NOVEC.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cybersecurity IT operations, threat management and incident response, enterprise network experience and knowledge of

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or a related field is required.
• 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity.
• Demonstrated experience managing technical teams and leading technical projects.
• Strong understanding of security operations, threat intelligence, and incident response.
• Experience with SIEM platforms, EDR tools, and cloud security.
• Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, NIST CSF, and CIS Controls.

Responsibilities

• Oversee real-time monitoring, threat detection, and incident response activities.
• Manage security analysts and incident responders.
• Develop and maintain playbooks, runbooks, and escalation procedures.
• Coordinate regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
• Lead investigations of security incidents and breaches and perform post-incident analysis.
• Manage and optimize security technologies such as SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and DLP.
