Job summary

Charleston Southern University is seeking an Information Security Administrator to oversee the university’s cybersecurity technologies, monitoring, and compliance. You will work with IT teams to protect data, systems, networks, and endpoints, and coordinate incident response, vulnerability management, and security training.

You will administer security controls, assess risks, and contribute to policy development, awareness programs, and regulatory compliance, including FERPA and industry

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity or related field; equivalent education and experience considered.
• 4+ years of professional cybersecurity experience.
• Experience with security monitoring, EDR, vulnerability management, and incident response.
• Familiar with firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, MFA, and related platforms.
• Strong communication, documentation, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor networks, endpoints, cloud services, and logs for threats.
• Investigate alerts, coordinate containment, remediation, and recovery.
• Administer security controls like firewalls, EDR, and NAC.
• Coordinate vulnerability management, patching, and hardening.
• Deliver employee cybersecurity awareness training and phishing simulations.
• Assist with risk assessments and security policy enforcement.
