Job summary

US Foods is offering a Cybersecurity Operations Internship in a hybrid role (onsite and remote) in Rosemont, IL. You will work with the Technology Governance & Security Team and gain hands-on exposure to frontline security operations and incident response.

The program includes mentorship, regular performance feedback, and an opportunity to present end-of-summer achievements to senior leadership. Candidates must be enrolled in a degree program and pursuing cybersecurity or IT disciplines.

Qualifications

• Fundamental knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
• Hands-on coursework with cybersecurity tools and labs.
• Ability to analyze event logs and incident data.
• Introductory knowledge of cloud infrastructure and security concepts.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day cybersecurity operations and incident response tasks.
• Learn to use security tools and dashboards under guidance of senior team members.
• Assist in governance, risk and compliance activities and third-party risk assessments.
• Monitor event logs and escalate security incidents to the SOC/IR teams.
• Contribute to research on current threats and vulnerabilities.
