Job summary

NextDecade is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Specialist to safeguard information assets, cloud environments, and data through advanced security technologies and governance.

You will serve as a subject matter expert on Microsoft security tools, with responsibilities across operations, incident response, vulnerability management, and data governance. Collaboration with Legal, HR, IT, and business teams is essential.

Qualifications

• - Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field.
• - At least five years of progressive cybersecurity experience.
• - Hands-on with Microsoft 365 security and compliance technologies (Purview).
• - Experience with data protection, eDiscovery, and information governance.
• - Strong incident response, investigations, IAM, and vulnerability management skills.
• - Familiar with SIEM/EDR/XDR and cloud security.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, investigate, and respond to cybersecurity incidents and threats.
• Lead incident response activities, containment, eradication, and recovery.
• Perform threat hunting, root cause analysis, and forensics for security events.
• Coordinate vulnerability assessments, remediation tracking, and patch management.
• Manage Microsoft Purview, Defender, Entra ID, and data protection policies.
• Support audits, risk assessments, and compliance activities.
• Deliver security awareness and guidance across the organization.
