Job summary

Lyric, a leader in healthcare decision intelligence, seeks an Information Security Intern for a 12-week remote internship in the United States. The role supports the Security team across cloud environments, IAM, EDR, and vulnerability management, with hands-on exposure to enterprise security practices.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and have completed their third year in a relevant program. No prior professional security experience is required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in info security, cybersecurity, CS, IS, or related field.
• Expected to complete third year before internship start date.
• Foundational knowledge in networks, operating systems, and IT concepts.
• Familiar with fundamental cybersecurity concepts and threat landscape.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with clear documentation.

Responsibilities

• Support Security team in monitoring security controls across AWS, Azure, networks, and endpoints.
• Assist SIEM activities: review events, analyze logs, document findings, and learn detections.
• Gain exposure to EDR and endpoint security monitoring and investigations.
• Assist IAM activities: SSO, MFA, role-based and privileged access, identity lifecycle.
• Review and investigate potential security alerts; document findings and next steps.
• Participate in vulnerability management: review scans, prioritize risk, track remediation.
• Help document security standards, procedures, controls, and runbooks.
• Learn how security frameworks apply to cloud, OS, networks, and apps.
• Participate in projects on cloud security, data protection, threat detection, automation.
• Research emerging cyber threats and share findings with the Security team.
