Job summary

Southern Company seeks a cybersecurity leader to direct a team focusing on security engineering services for the Specialized Cybersecurity group. Responsibilities include overseeing security architecture and operations for critical OT/IT environments.

The role requires strategic thinking, executive communication, and experience in regulated utility settings. Hybrid work with on-site and remote collaboration is supported.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information technology, engineering, business, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience directly supporting technology solutions (servers, switches, firewalls, etc).
• At least 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a proven track record of leadership in this domain.
• 3+ years of experience in leading teams.
• Demonstrated inclusive leadership and ability to attract, retain and develop talent.
• Experience applying TTPs to security operations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to operate in a highly regulated, mission-critical environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead security engineering services team and deliver security solutions.
• Design and oversee implementation of advanced security policies and strategies for operational environments.
• Foster integration of OT and IT security practices to build robust architecture.
• Champion training and development programs to elevate security culture.
• Engage with business partners at a strategic level to provide value.
