Job summary

CACI is seeking a Junior Cyber Security Engineer to design and implement technical cyber controls across DoD contractor and commercial environments. The role emphasizes Linux hardening, secure coding in Python, and alignment with NIST standards.

You will collaborate with development teams to integrate security requirements into applications and document POA&Ms, design specs, and testing plans, while maintaining strong communication across stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Technical cyber controls design and implementation.
• Linux hardening and systems-level configuration tuning.
• Secure coding practices in Python and Flask (REST APIs).
• Experience with NIST SP 800-53, 800-171, RMF, CMMC, POA&Ms, DoD requirements.
• Familiarity with CIS Benchmarks, DISA STIG, FIPS 140-2.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement technical cyber controls for security applications and infrastructure.
• Harden Linux servers (RHEL-family, Alma Linux, Ubuntu, Kali) using SELinux, firewalls, least privilege, and scripting.
• Apply secure coding practices in Python, including input allow listing, secrets management, and constant-time checks.
• Prepare design alternatives, deployment requirements, and testing approaches for security applications.
• Assess and remediate controls per NIST SP 800-53 and 800-171; track through POA&Ms.
