Job summary

CACI International Inc. is seeking a Junior Cyber Software Engineer to design, develop, and secure next-generation tactical cyber infrastructure and mission‑critical defense solutions. You will work with Rust and other languages across embedded architectures and tactical networks while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Education: Bachelor's in CS/CE/Engineering. Experience: 1–3 years. Clearance: Active DoD Secret. Travel up to 10% within the Continental US.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related STEM discipline.
1–3 years of professional software development experience or equivalent military/co-op experience.
Active DoD Secret security clearance required and must be maintained.

Responsibilities

Develop clean, safe, and highly efficient code primarily in Rust, with supplemental modules in C, C++, or Go.
Redesign and harden legacy software modules using memory-safe architectures to mitigate memory-corruption exploits such as buffer overflows.
Support integration of software components with custom hardware, in‑vehicle data networks, and tactical C5ISR communication systems.
Review, debug, and test software using automated pipelines to meet strict design requirements and validate defense performance metrics.
Contribute to requirements analysis, architecture development, and creation of technical documentation aligned with DoD software engineering standards.
