Job summary

Permian Resources in Midland, TX is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to design, implement, and maintain enterprise security controls across information systems, data, and cloud environments. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering or a related role.
• Hands-on IAM experience including SSO, MFA, conditional access, RBAC, and PAM.
• Demonstrated experience leading incident response, including containment, eradication, and recovery.
• Experience operating a vulnerability management program — scanning, risk-based prioritization, and remediation.
• Experience deploying and operating EDR/XDR and/or SIEM platforms.
• Experience with security policy development and solution implementation.
• Strong understanding of threat analysis and mitigation techniques.
• Familiarity with NIST CSF and related standards.
• OT/ICS security familiarity is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Administer and mature IAM services (SSO, MFA, CA, RBAC, PAM).
• Lead incident response efforts in detection, containment, eradication, and recovery.
• Operate vulnerability management program — scanning, prioritization, remediation.
• Deploy and tune EDR/XDR and SIEM to detect and respond to threats.
• Design and implement security solutions (firewalls, IDS/IPS, DLP, cloud controls).
• Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards.
• Conduct threat analysis and vulnerability assessments.
• Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security across infrastructure.
• Research new security technologies and provide security awareness training.
