Job summary

Permian Resources in Midland, Texas, is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to design, implement, and maintain security controls across on-premises and cloud environments. The role focuses on IAM, incident response, vulnerability management, EDR/XDR, and security policy development to protect data, users, and operations.

You will collaborate with IT teams, lead threat analysis, run post-incident reviews, and help mature the security program, including OT/ICS awareness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• 5+ years in cybersecurity engineering or related role.
• Hands-on IAM experience with SSO, MFA, RBAC, PAM.
• Experience leading incident response and vulnerability management.
• Experience with EDR/XDR and SIEM platforms.

Responsibilities

• Administer IAM services including SSO, MFA, conditional access.
• Lead incident response, containment, eradication, recovery & post-incident reviews.
• Operate vulnerability management program and coordinate patching.
• Deploy and tune EDR/XDR and SIEM tooling across the environment.
• Design security solutions (firewalls, WAF, DLP) and cloud controls.
• Develop security policies and ensure policy adoption.
• Collaborate with IT teams to embed security across infrastructure.
