Job summary

Space Coast Credit Union (SCCU) is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer I to protect digital assets and sensitive information. You will monitor security systems, respond to incidents, and coordinate remediation across endpoints, servers, and networks.

The role includes threat hunting, patch management oversight, and implementing security controls. SCCU offers not-for-profit stability, promotions, and training opportunities as part of a member-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, CS, or related field (substitutions allowed).
• 3–5 years of cybersecurity experience required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security systems (SIEM/Endpoint Protection (AV, EDR, Zero Day, APT), DLP, IPS/IDS, NAC and rogue device detection) for suspicious activities and anomalies.
• Respond to security incidents with root cause analysis and coordinate remediation efforts.
• Identify, analyze, and respond to security threats and vulnerabilities.
• Perform threat hunting and advanced detection activities to protect systems and data.
• Lead the planning, testing, and scheduling of system patches across all endpoints, mobile devices, servers, and network infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain a patch management schedule and ensure timely application of security patches and updates.
• Coordinate with various teams to minimize disruption and ensure compatibility of patches with organizational systems.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing; prioritize risks and remediate vulnerabilities.
• Design, implement, and manage security solutions including firewalls, encryption, access control, and data protection technologies.
• Ensure compliance with regulations such as NCUA, PCI-DSS; assist audits and maintain reports.
• Develop, document, and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures; drive security posture improvements.
• Work with network, systems, and apps teams to integrate security into infrastructure and development.
• Assist in delivering cybersecurity training to staff and promote security awareness.
• Lead complex incident response efforts and coordinate with internal/ external partners.
