Job summary

Exp Federal is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team in the US. This role focuses on coordinating security requirements for classified and non-classified systems, implementing security designs, and complying with RMF/NIST standards across projects.

The candidate will develop security controls, oversee POA&M, and coordinate remediation timelines with stakeholders while maintaining secure configurations and testing approaches throughout design and deployment phases.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5 years RMF experience with DoD guidelines and RMF/NIST materials.
  • Experience with cybersecurity engineering, solution development, or remediation.
  • Specialized knowledge in security training/awareness, investigations, systems security administration, and network security controls.
  • Experience with the RMF 6-Step process in DoD programs.
  • DoD Directive 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Execute cybersecurity best practices in design, construction, and commissioning phases using RMF per NIST.

The Challenge:

We are seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to join our growing team. Ideal candidates are independent thinkers, self- motivated, communicate proactively, enjoy collaborating within and beyond project team, and thrive in a non-corporate environment and structure.

Principle Areas of Responsibility are:

  • Responsible for coordinating closely with customers in the design, implementation, and assessment of security requirements on classified and non-classified systems
  • Development and implementation of designs and documented assessment of security controls
  • Execution of cybersecurity best-practice in the design, construction, and commissioning phase of projects utilizing the Risk Management Framework (RMF) as defined by National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)
  • Oversee development and execution of the Plan of Actions and Milestone (POA&M)
  • Request for Exceptions (RFE) to document non-compliant security controls coordinates with stakeholders to plan remediation timelines
  • Assists in the configuration of secure systems, tests security products/systems to detect computer and information security weaknesses

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field preferred. Combination of related industrial security experience will be considered
  • 5 years of experience working with and implementing DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) process; and NIST Special Publication series guidelines, recommendations and reference materials as applied to military systems
  • Experience with cybersecurity, engineering, cybersecurity solution development, or security vulnerability remediation
  • Specialized knowledge in areas such as cybersecurity security training and awareness, investigations, systems security administration, and network security control
  • Experience with the RMF 6-Step process as part of DoD programs
  • Possess a current Department of Defense (DoD) Directive 8570 / 8140 IAT Level II Certification.
  • Ability to transfer, obtain, and maintain a U.S. government security clearance
