Job summary

World Wide Technology seeks a Cybersecurity Engineer with defensive cyber operations expertise for its Government Services team in Charleston, SC. The role focuses on threat detection, incident response, and secure operations in mission-critical environments.

You will work with SIEM/EDR, perform vulnerability management, and coordinate with operations to ensure compliance and rapid containment. A TS clearance is required; hybrid work in Charleston region is supported.

Qualifications

• DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls and DLP security systems.
• Understanding of network protocols and security architectures.

What will you be doing?

WWT is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer with experience in defensive cyber operations, threat detection, and security engineering.

Key Responsibilities

A Cybersecurity Engineer will work with SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, vulnerability management, network segmentation, and incident response workflows to improve visibility, reduce alert noise, and speed containment and recovery. Strong hands‑on experience with telemetry, threat hunting, MITRE ATT&CK‑aligned detection, and secure operations in DDIL or mission‑critical environments is paramount, along with the ability to support continuous compliance, reporting, and coordination with operational teams.

Basic Qualifications

• DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification
• Bachelor’s degree in field like Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Experience with SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), IDS/IPS (Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems), firewalls, DLP (Data Loss Prevention), and other security systems
• Understanding of network protocols, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and network security architecture
• Knowledge of operating systems, hardware, and software security, including vulnerabilities, hardening techniques, and secure coding practices
• Ability to identify and assess vulnerabilities in systems and applications, as well as perform penetration testing
• Ability to analyze logs and other data to identify security threats and incidents
• TS Clearance

Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of salary range. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $150,000.00 to $170,000.00 annually. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base pay.
