Job summary

World Wide Technology is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer for the Government Services team in Charleston, SC. The role focuses on defensive cyber operations, threat detection, and security engineering across SIEM, EDR/XDR, and vulnerability management.

The ideal candidate has DoD 8570 IAT Level III and TS clearance with experience in secure coding practices and incident response in mission-critical environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification is required.
• Experience with SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, DLP and related security systems.
• Understanding of network protocols and security architecture.
• Knowledge of OS/hardware security and secure coding practices.
• Ability to identify vulnerabilities and perform penetration testing.
• Ability to analyze logs to detect security threats and incidents.

Responsibilities

• Work with SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, vulnerability management, network segmentation, and incident response workflows.
• Provide telemetry, threat hunting, MITRE ATT&CK-aligned detection, and secure operations in mission-critical environments, ensuring compliance and reporting.

Job description

Basic Qualifications:

• DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification
• Bachelor’s degree in field like Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Experience with SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), IDS/IPS (Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems), firewalls, DLP (Data Loss Prevention), and other security systems
• Understanding of network protocols, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and network security architecture
• Knowledge of operating systems, hardware, and software security, including vulnerabilities, hardening techniques, and secure coding practices
• Ability to identify and assess vulnerabilities in systems and applications, as well as perform penetration testing
• Ability to analyze logs and other data to identify security threats and incidents

Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of salary range. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $150,000.00 to $170,000.00 annually. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base pay.
