Job summary

KAYAK is seeking a Director of Cybersecurity to lead a global team of security engineers and shape the security program across detection, response, vulnerability management, IAM, cloud, and application security. The role balances protection with agility in a hands-on leadership capacity.

You will partner with CISO and senior leaders to define strategy, embed security into product development, and drive measurable security improvements while guiding the team through evolving threats.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in cybersecurity or related field with significant people-leadership experience.
• Proven success building or maturing security programs in a complex tech environment.
• Strong experience across multiple security domains: SecOps, IR, VM, IAM, cloud, app security, or security architecture.
• Strong technical skills in Linux, networking, firewalls, and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of NIST CSF, CIS, SOC 2, PCI-DSS.
• Excellent communication with executives and engineers.
• Experience developing security metrics and reporting to leadership.
• Hybrid work readiness; able to attend Concord office 3+ days/week.
• Degree in a relevant field welcome; equivalent experience valued.
• Curiosity about AI and automation in security operations.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the security strategy, roadmap, and operating model with measurable outcomes.
• Lead and mentor a global security engineering team across incident response, vulnerability management, IAM, and app security.
• Own day-to-day security program operations including threat detection, response, and endpoint security.
• Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, and product teams to embed security in systems.
• Manage vendor relationships and contribute to security tooling budgets.
