Job summary

KLDiscovery is seeking a Director of Cybersecurity Operations to lead Security Operations, Incident Response, and Security Engineering. This role partners with the CISO to modernize operations via MDR deployment, AI-informed detection, and a functionally specialized engineering team.

You will own the MDR relationship, drive threat hunting reviews, and oversee analytics, automation, and risk reporting to Executive leadership. A hands-on leader with extensive security experience is essential.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive information security experience with 7+ years in leadership.
• Ownership of a security operations or engineering function at Director level or equivalent.
• Experience deploying/maturing MDR deployments in a corporate setting.
• Hands-on background in at least two: security engineering, penetration testing, cloud security, application security, or incident response.
• Experience deploying or maturing security automation (SOAR, IaC gates, CI/CD security).
• Familiarity with cloud-native security (AWS/Azure/GCP) including CSPM and IAM governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead Security Operations and Incident Response, Security Engineering, Threat Intelligence, Vulnerability Management, and AppSec.
• Oversee MDR relationship, SIEM/SOAR tuning, and incident coordination including executive communications.
• Direct and develop security analysts and optimize resource allocation.
• Drive automation-first engineering practices and tool strategy across endpoints, identity, cloud, and applications.
