9th Way Insignia is seeking an E2 - Engineer to analyze cybersecurity data, identify vulnerabilities, and support remediation for the VA COSE program. You will develop dashboards and reports, validate data quality, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize risk and ensure reporting accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, data analytics, information systems, information technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 4+ years of cybersecurity analysis, vulnerability management, or related experience.
• Experience with asset, vulnerability, configuration, compliance, or security-event data.

Responsibilities

• Analyze cybersecurity and continuous-diagnostics data to identify vulnerabilities, control gaps, asset issues, and risk trends.
• Validate data quality, normalize findings, reconcile asset and vulnerability records, and support reporting accuracy.
• Develop dashboards, recurring reports, and data-driven recommendations for remediation and risk prioritization.
• Coordinate with system owners, security teams, and operations teams to resolve data discrepancies and verify remediation status.
• Document analytical methods, data definitions, assumptions, and results.

Project Introduction

The Department of Veterans Affairs Cybersecurity Operations and Services Enterprise (COSE) program delivers the enterprise cybersecurity operations, engineering, architecture, risk, and compliance support that safeguards VA systems, data, and mission delivery. The team helps strengthen the cyber resilience of the digital services relied on by Veterans, their families, and the VA workforce.

Responsibilities

• Analyze cybersecurity and continuous-diagnostics data to identify vulnerabilities, control gaps, asset issues, and risk trends.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, data analytics, information systems, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Four or more years of cybersecurity analysis, vulnerability management, continuous diagnostics and mitigation, data analysis, or related experience.
• Experience working with asset, vulnerability, configuration, compliance, or security-event data.
• Ability to analyze data sets, identify trends and discrepancies, and communicate actionable findings.
• Experience with reporting, dashboarding, spreadsheets, SQL, or comparable data-analysis tools.

Salary Range

$78,522 - $110,000 USD

Clearance/Background Investigation
