9th Way Insignia is seeking an E3 Engineer to design system and integration architectures for secure data exchange, APIs, and platforms within the VA COSE program. You will define interface patterns, data flows, integration standards, and provide implementation guidance.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.

• Experience with APIs, integration patterns, data flows, cloud or hybrid architectures, and secure system design.

Project Introduction

The Department of Veterans Affairs Cybersecurity Operations and Services Enterprise (COSE) program delivers the enterprise cybersecurity operations, engineering, architecture, risk, and compliance support that safeguards VA systems, data, and mission delivery. The team helps strengthen the cyber resilience of the digital services relied on by Veterans, their families, and the VA workforce.

Responsibilities

• Design system and integration architectures for secure data exchange, APIs, applications, platforms, and operational services.
• Define interface patterns, system requirements, data flows, integration standards, and implementation guidance.
• Evaluate architecture alternatives for security, scalability, reliability, performance, and operational supportability.
• Coordinate with architects, developers, cybersecurity engineers, and business stakeholders during design and delivery.
• Produce architecture diagrams, interface specifications, integration plans, and technical decision records.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Eight or more years of systems engineering, integration architecture, software architecture, or enterprise application integration experience.
• Demonstrated experience with APIs, integration patterns, data flows, cloud or hybrid architectures, and secure system design.
• Experience translating business and technical requirements into implementable architecture and interface specifications.
• Strong architecture documentation, analysis, and stakeholder communication skills.

Salary Range

$98,135 - $130,000 USD
