Job summary

Firethorne Technology Services is expanding its cybersecurity practice and seeks a Cybersecurity Analyst to support SIEM monitoring, MDR, and security operations for our Houston-area MSP clients.

You will monitor SIEM alerts, assist with incident response, and help with vulnerability remediation, assessments, and compliance documentation. The role offers growth opportunities across industries and ongoing certification support.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in a SOC, MSSP, or cybersecurity analyst role.
  • Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms (Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, or similar).
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to prioritize under pressure.
  • Clear written and verbal communication for client-facing work.

Job description

Firethorne is expanding its managed cybersecurity practice, and we're hiring a Cybersecurity Analyst to support SIEM monitoring, managed detection and response (MDR), and security operations for our Houston-area MSP client base.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor SIEM platforms for security alerts and investigate potential incidents across client environments. Support MDR service delivery, including triage, escalation, and remediation guidance for detected threats. Tune detection rules and reduce false positives in partnership with the broader security team. Assist clients with security assessments, vulnerability remediation, and compliance documentation. Support incident response activities, including containment and root-cause analysis. Document findings and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical client stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in a SOC, MSSP, or cybersecurity analyst role. Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms (Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, or similar). Understanding of common attack techniques, threat detection, and incident response fundamentals. Strong analytical skills and ability to prioritize under pressure. Clear written and verbal communication skills for client-facing work.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Security certification (Security+, CySA+, GCIH, or similar). Experience supporting MSP or MSSP client environments specifically. Familiarity with endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools. Knowledge of compliance frameworks (NIST, CIS Controls, HIPAA, PCI).
