Job summary

Request Technology, LLC is seeking an experienced cybersecurity professional to join its Security Operations team in a hybrid role in the Chicago area. You will collaborate with internal security teams to develop and implement new detection rules within SIEM and EDR platforms, monitor alerts, triage incidents, and respond quickly to threats.

The position emphasizes threat intelligence, secure configurations, and continuous improvement of monitoring processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in Cybersecurity, IT related fields (or equivalent experience).
• At least six years in IT-related field or minimum three years direct cybersecurity experience.
• Certifications: CompTIA Security+, GIAC Information Security Fundamentals or Security Essentials, CISSP.
• Experience with EDR and SIEM tools listed in the job ad.
• Knowledge of Azure cloud modules (Sentinel, Defender, Entra, Key Vault).

Qualifications:

• This role will also collaborate with other internal security teams to develop and implement new detection rules within the company’s various security platforms (e.g. SIEM, EDR, etc.).
• Monitor, triage, and respond to security alerts and incidents.
• Utilize threat intelligence feeds to stay informed about emerging threats.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure configurations
• Develop and implement new detection rules.
• Maintain and configure security tools and technologies.
• Document and conform to processes related to security monitoring and incident response.
• Acts as subject matter expert for security incident responses.
• Enhance department and organization reputation by delivering quality results and exploring opportunities to increase value and raise awareness of Information Security Program
• Participate in knowledge sharing with other analysts/engineers and develop solutions efficiently.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in Cybersecurity, Information Technology related fields (or equivalent experience).
• At least six years of experience in an information technology-related field or a minimum of three years of direct cybersecurity experience (required).
• Certificates, Licensures, Registrations: CompTIA Security+, GIAC Information Security Fundamentals or Security Essentials Certification, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
• Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solutions (e.g., CrowdStrike, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, SentinelOne)
• Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms (e.g., Sentinel, Splunk, LogRhythm, Exabeam, Google SecOps) including event analysis, log collection/management, alert generation, investigations, and reporting
• Azure cloud modules (e.g., Sentinel, Defender, Entra, Identity, Key Vault)
• Endpoint security technologies/agents (e.g., web proxy, DLP, CASB)
